ASC Leader GENASCIS™ Introduces New Business Intelligence Software Module, MEDIBIS™ Query.
JUNE 10, 2009LOS ANGELES, Calif. - ASC Revenue Cycle Management and Business Intelligence leader GENASCIS™ (pronounced “genesis”) has announced the development and introduction of a powerful new add-on module for users of the company's existing MEDIBIS™ Analytics web-based software. The new module is called MEDIBIS Query.
“MEDIBIS Query is an especially important new development for multiple-Ambulatory Surgery Center enterprises because it works across all facilities and IT infrastructure boundaries,” said GENASCIS senior vice president of sales, marketing and product management Kathleen Harris. “For example, an ASC system operating 15 facilities can pull a list of all case costs, all payments received, or any other operational or financial fact, even when each of the 15 facilities may be using different medical systems,” she explained.
According to GENASCIS chief information technology officer Michael Bridges, “MEDIBIS Query is far more than a reporting tool, because it is engineered with the added 'I.Q.' of a comprehensive data dictionary built by GENASCIS using IBM® Cognos query and reporting technology.
“MEDIBIS Query gives a center access to the relevant underlying data details that also drive our industry-leading MEDIBIS Analytics system. A key attribute of Query is that it's extremely flexible; it can effortlessly pull all types of data to provide actionable insight,” he added.
MEDIBIS, an acronym for “Medical Business Intelligence Solutions,” is available to the ASC industry on a subscription basis, with the MEDIBIS Analytics tool being the core product, and MEDIBIS Query being an elective add-on.
According to Bridges, additional MEDIBIS features and other new modules are currently in development by GENASCIS.
